Vertigo!
So I'm sitting here with a performance tomorrow and vertigo! Such an old fashioned term. But it's very real. The room, the bed, the chair just won't stop spinning, tilting, etc. Dr. says it's most likely a crytal in my inner ear that should dissolve in a few days. Meantime, meds and stay low. But we're playing at a children's reading group at a downtown bookstore tomorrow morning for a group of little ones with the program we played at Maggie's school last week. I'm sure it will go, but I'm a bit nervous because of the vertigo. I'll report after.

Practice, Practice, Practice
We never get good. We just keep on practicing, chasing an elusive goal of perfection, whatever that means. Doesn't matter much what level you're on - a beginner striving for intermediate, all the way to Yo Yo Ma just trying to get it even a little bit better, it never stops. That's both the joy and the frustration of being a musician (and probably a lot of other things as well).
Lots coming up. A Gershwin concert with the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra, a Mozart Requiem with the Central Florida Community College choir, a Bach Suite #5 Sarabande for a "Shoah" (Holocaust) memorial service - the beat goes on. Thanks be!!!
Took on a new student today. A teen beginner. Very exciting. What a great age to be.
